Why Vedavarsity Foundation exists, who we serve, and how we measure whether we're succeeding.
Our purpose
Vedavarsity Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to reviving scripture-based Vedic education for a global audience. We believe that the wisdom contained in texts like the Bhagavad Gita and Śrīmad Bhāgavatam is not a historical artifact but a living, practical guide for how to live — for individuals, couples, and families navigating a world of information overload and shifting values.
Our work is carried out through Vedavarsity, our online teaching platform, which structures this knowledge into progressive, verifiable courses rather than scattered content. We exist to close the gap between ancient scripture and modern life, taught by qualified instructors rather than left to informal or unreliable sources.
Who we serve
Our students span 21 countries and include university students, working professionals, parents, retirees, and long-time practitioners. Some come with no prior background in Vedic philosophy; others are refining decades of practice. Courses are designed to meet both.
Our approach
- Scripture-based, not motivational. Courses are grounded in primary texts — the Bhagavad Gita, Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and the broader Gaudiya Vaishnava commentarial tradition — rather than repackaged self-help content.
- Structured, progressive learning. From single self-paced modules to our fourteen-level, four-year Śāstric Studies Program, students can go as deep as they choose.
- Contribution-based access. No student is turned away for inability to pay. Courses are offered on a voluntary contribution model, funded in part by donor support.
- Practical application. Alongside philosophy, we teach Vedic lifestyle, family life, and relationship courses so learning translates into daily practice.
What success looks like

Areas of focus
Our curriculum today centers on four areas: Bhakti Yoga and scriptural study, family and relationship education through our School of Love, practical Vedic lifestyle training, and Sanskrit and śāstric (scriptural) studies at an advanced level. Explore all of them on our programs page.
Public benefit
As a nonprofit society registered under the BC Societies Act, Vedavarsity Foundation exists solely for public benefit — not private gain. In Canada, that means offering values-based education that supports mental wellbeing, family stability, and community life at no cost to taxpayers and no barrier for those who cannot pay. Around the world, it means extending the same free and contribution-based courses to sincere seekers across 21 countries, strengthening families and communities well beyond our own borders.
