Is Vedavarsity Foundation a legitimate nonprofit?

Are the courses really free?
Courses are offered on a contribution basis: you're welcome to study without paying, and voluntary donations are what allow us to keep offering courses this way. See our donation page for how contributions are used.
Who can enroll?
Anyone. Our students range from complete newcomers to long-time practitioners, across 21 countries. No prior background in Vedic philosophy is required for our introductory and self-paced courses.
What tradition do the courses come from?
Our teaching is rooted in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, taught by faculty within the ISKCON community. Courses are grounded directly in scripture — the Bhagavad Gita, Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and related commentarial works.
How are courses delivered?

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Vedavarsity Foundation is incorporated as a nonprofit society in British Columbia, Canada. Society incorporation is separate from registered charity status with the Canada Revenue Agency, and our charitable registration status is not yet confirmed on this site. How can I volunteer?

Do I need any special equipment to take a course?
No — courses are accessible from any device with an internet connection through the Vedavarsity platform.
Are certificates offered on completion?
Yes for structured programs like Bhakti Shastri and the Śāstric Studies levels, which include testing and formal completion recognition. Shorter Vedic Lifestyle courses are more informal and may not include a certificate — check the specific course page on Vedavarsity for details.
Are class recordings available if I miss a live session?
Most live classes are recorded and made available to enrolled students on the Vedavarsity platform, so missing a session doesn't mean missing the material. Availability can vary by course, so check with your instructor for specifics.
